Superintendent Dave Verdugo interviews 1999 Rio Rico High School graduate, Daniel Nevarez.

Daniel was very active in athletics during his school career. He played baseball, wrestled, and was a cross-country runner. In 2019, he began losing his eyesight. To overcome the depression of losing his vision, Daniel chose to start running again and is currently training for the New York City Marathon on November 6, 2022.
