Santa Cruz Valley is a beautiful, rural region with a moderate year-round climate, where the sun shines almost every day. Due to our higher elevation, our daily temperatures tend to be 15 - 20 degrees cooler than Phoenix-a trend that suits us perfectly.
There is plenty to do and see within our district boundaries, which extend from Amado (approximately 40 miles south of Tucson) to Rio Rico (just ten minutes from the border of Mexico). The Santa Cruz River that runs through the valley draws a great variety of wildlife to our area, including coyotes, hawks, foxes, javelina, deer, and many species of migrating birds.
Being so close in proximity to the Mexican border, we have a rich and vibrant cultural heritage. In our little corner of the globe, you'll find delicious border cuisine, well-preserved Spanish colonial missions, national parks, art galleries, and plenty of colorful fiestas and festivals celebrating the traditions and legacy of Santa Cruz Valley.
