Help Stop the Spread of Germs

Good health habits protect your child from illness. Simple actions can help stop the spread of germs at school. Please remind your children and remember to:

  • Stay home when sick.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Cover the nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue away after use and wash your hands.
  • Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth—germs spread this way.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects, both at home and school—especially when someone is ill.
  • Get vaccinated against the FLU and all vaccine preventable diseases, such as whooping cough and measles.

COVID-19 Guidance

SCV35 health staff follows CDC recommendations for COVID-like symptoms and illness. Please help stop the spread of COVID-19 by using the following strategies:
Stay home when sick, exposed or have a confirmed positive test.
Report positive COVID-19 tests, exposures and/or symptoms to your health office immediately for guidance.

The CDC recommends students and staff exposed to COVID-19 to wear a mask for 10 days and monitor for symptoms.

If you would like to know more about how health staff determine the right course for your student during a COVID-19 related illness or exposure, please visit the CDC website below.

VACCINES

The State of AZ has not waivered on required vaccines for school entry regardless of learning status, distance or hybrid. If your child needs vaccines, the child must receive the required vaccines to be compliant with State regulations. Students will not be permitted to return to campus without receiving or making arrangements to receive the required vaccinations. If you are in doubt regarding what vaccine(s) are needed please feel free to contact the Health Office staff at your school site for assistance. Thank you.

VACUNAS

HEALTH OFFICE

Students learn best when they are healthy in mind and body. Our district is happy to provide for the health concerns of our students through our nursing services. Each school has a health office, and students may contact the health office staff as needed. School health aides will provide for students' needs in accordance with the district policies regarding medications and treatment for illness.

We require our students to be fully immunized according to the requirements for each child's age and grade level. You can find the specific requirements by reviewing the immunization documents posted at the side of this page. If you have additional questions regarding immunizations or any other health-related concerns, please contact our health office at (520) 281-8282, or speak to your child's school nurse.

A school administrator shall ensure that students in preschool, kindergarten, first, second, sixth, and ninth grades have a hearing screening each school year as stated in R9-13-102. Arizona Department of Health Services regulations state that a child in school as defined in A.R.S. 15-101; preschool, kindergarten, charter, and private schools perform hearing screenings between July 1 and the following June 30 of the school year. Should you have questions or would not like your child to get these screenings, please contact Melisa Lunderville, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, at (520) 375-8289.
